2nd Annual Basketball Camp at Provo Rec August 2-3, 2018

October 7, 2018 |

Camp this year was amazing! Our coaches-all current UVU and SLCC Basketball players-brought high energy and fun! Our campers enjoyed improving their skills, playing games, and making new friends.

Service Life strives to increase connection three ways: See, Hear, and Play. Our basketball camp incorporates all three of these principles as our campers interact and connect with our coaches and other campers through playing basketball.

Our basketball camp is an event created because four of the women on the Service Life Board are former BYU basketball players. Basketball has given us many life-long friends and unique life experiences and we want to pass our love for the game on to kids in our community. We are so grateful to the families who shared their kids with us for a couple days, we love being with them.

Special thanks to the UVU and SLCC Men’s and Women’s Basketball players for volunteering their time and knowledge to serve our community. They are our heroes!

“My kids had so much fun! All they could talk about for days was their coaches and their new friends. This was such a wonderful thing for them to be able to do. Not only was it fun but they learned some great skills too!”-Michelle Rhodes

“Team 13 got to meet and be friends. I really liked the games that we played. My favorite game was fireman forest.”-Bradshaw Jackson

“It was really fun shooting and learning how to play and find out new ways to play well.” “My favorite was shooting baskets and dribbling and I got to 113 consecutive dribbles.”-Huey Jackson
